Fostered by producer Dominique Welinski since 2013, la Factory aims at helping emerging talents to access the international scene. Each year, this residence allows 4 directors to co-write and co-direct a short film abroad, working in pairs with a director from the host country. This short-film program is then shown on the opening of Cannes Festival Directors’ Fortnight.
This year again, one of the winners will be named in Poitiers! Just like when Lucie La Chimia was spotted in 2015 for the 2017 Lebanon Factory, Dominique Welinski will choose among the selected directors the lucky winner who will travel to Tunisia in 2018 and will be guided through the production of his/her first feature film.
