Two launch-pad initiatives

The Poitiers Film Festival makes a point of accompanying budding young filmmakers (from film schools as well as from the region) as they join the professional scene. To this end, the festival continues to develop two launch-pad initiatives: one on the international scene and the other on the regional level.

Jump In provides young filmmakers (who have been featured in the International Selection or the festival and are at the end of their training) with an intermediate stepping stone to strengthen their ideas and projects before applying to programs or for international funding. This initiative includes targeted training sessions with experienced professionals aimed at identifying the participants’ specific needs and honing a development strategy.

“Talents en Court” proposes to accompany young regional authors as they develop their short film projects. The Poitiers Film Festival is supported in this initiative, which is made possible by the CNC’s “Talents en Court” program, by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and works in partnership with Bordeaux’s “Festival International du Film Indépendant” (FIFIB) and Brive’s “International Medium-Length Film Meetings.”

A resource for professionals

The Poitiers Film Festival also strives to promote film schools and their productions. To this end, the festival offers a personalized program for representatives of the film schools invited for Focus with visits and meetings with relevant professionals.
